        Hi,

I downloaded EtherDetect packet sniffer tool to trace for packet flow. While installing it it also installs WinPCap tool also. Now i have both winpkfilter and winpCap network drivers. When i run the sniffer tool and then access the internet i am unable to access the internet. When i not capture i am able to access the internet. What could be the problem. Is there any compatability issue with both drivers or what else? Please reply. Otherwise suggest a packet sniffer tool which is compatible with winpkfilter also and able to work when try to capture packets with the sniffer tool. Waiting for reply.

        Thanking you,

        Regards,
        Yathindra.

                    Thanks for your reply.

I actually do the following processing, if is there any thing required please mention.

After Readpacket then i do some processing if allow the packet then based on direction i will call either SendPacketToAdapter or SendPacketToMstcp if i drop the packet in my processing then i don’t call these functions then i go to next packet.

On a timer interval i will verify for packet queue if it exceeds 400 then i am calling FlushAdapterPacketQueue method.

Actually what exactly happens after calling SendPacketToAdapter or SendPacketToMstcp it will remove from the adapter queue or not also if i call FlushAdapterPacketQueue which packets will be clear exactly means the packets which are in queue or some other means new packets?

Also the system is having a more load it’s a server having 60-80 clients will connect to it to perform their job.

                    Thanking you,

Thanks for your reply. How to do the manual installation. I approached 2 ways for installation one is through snetcfg and second one is direct run with winpkfilter_rtl.exe. Also as you suggested problem in system network configuration how to verify that any idea please mention.

                        Thanking you,

If i want to install the driver through snetcfg there we are specifying the names like ndisrd.inf and ndisrd_m.inf these relate to which driver exactly like IM driver or hook driver.

Also one more question if i install hook driver it will not display in Network properties?

                          Thanking you,

I am able to install means i have full privilages first i try to install through snetcfg it’s having the problem. Hence i downloaded the latest one from the site and run the winpkfilter_rtl.exe and install IM driver.

i want to know where the problem exact to identify like syetem dump files through that can we identify any thing.
then tell me how to take the dump files to solve the problem. if any other way is there please specify that.

                            Thanking you,
