      Hello,
I am having issues getting WinpkFilter 2.3.5 with Windows XP professional, SP1A with Hotfixes Q331320 running on a Dell4600 (P4-3.06Ghz, 512MB, IDE). The issue I am having is when XP starts and I log in, none of my application programs communicate (Web browser, Instant Messanger, etc), but DHCP works (ipconfig /release and /renew both work), and ListAdapters.exe work. PassThru.exe also shows packets ingress/egress. Any help would be appreciated.

I have gotton this to work fine on one other XP Pro computer.

      Thanks,
      – Mike B

That’s strange. Try removing the driver, perhaps you touched the configuration of your network (i.e. the gateway). Also try a traceroute to the internet and to ping the gateway or a host on the internet.

OK, I figured out what my problem was. I had Trend Micro Internet Security 11.20 antivirus installed on my Windows XP system. As a part of the antivirus software, it also included a firewall. Although the firewall was disabled, the drivers for it still loaded. To fix this, I renamed the following registry keys:

          HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServices

          1) tm_cfw
          2) tmproxy
          3) tmtdi

After I did that, WinpkFilter worked! Thanks to all that helped!
