      Hi,

I am using the VirtnetAdapter with Xp Pro.
Is it pssible to change the Order of the Virtnet Card in the Registry?
all my other Network Components like TV-card and MS Loopback are in the registry.

I have to move the order of the Virtnet Card for MS Windows, but I dont know how to do this if I can’t find it in the regitry.

      thanx

What do excatly mean under “order”? I would not recommend to edit network configuration through the registry, however VirtNet can be found in the registry like any other network interface.

the order is in which sequence windows works with the cards.

I have two applications running wich have to use the network cards.
my first app always use the first card windows provides. (my broadcom..)

the other app uses the virtnet card, the app takes the second installed card.

So I usually go the the registry and rename the keynames to 01 for the first card and 02 for the second card. so all other cards have higher numbers (12, 15…)and windows has the right orders I need.

The problem is that the virtnet adapter isn’t configurable in this way;-(
(the MS Loopback can do this but has other problems.)

maybe someone has a new idea to solve the “problem”.
